Psilo Sangha is a publicly funded non-profit ministry offering our services on a donation basis. We are dedicated to facilitating profound spiritual awakening and personal transformation through the sacred use of psilocybin. We create a safe, reverent space for individuals to explore their consciousness, connect with the Divine, and foster healing. Our community is built on the principles of inclusivity, ethical stewardship of sacred plants, and the integration of ancient wisdom with modern understanding. We strive to educate, support, and empower our members in their spiritual journeys, while advocating for the responsible use of psilocybin within a framework of religious freedom and legal compliance. Through our ceremonies, services, educational programs, and community support, we aim to cultivate a more loving, compassionate, and spiritually aware society.
Mission Statement
Vision Statement
We envision a world where individuals and communities are deeply connected, experiencing peace, compassion, and liberation from suffering through mindfulness practices and safe use of sacred medicines for deeper navigation of life’s ups and downs. Given the effectiveness of these services, we hold in our vision the intention to provide additional consideration to veterans, addicts, marginalized communities and individuals transitioning from correctional environments back into the community.
Our History
Psilo Sangha began as a meditation center offering underground services. Our team came together as a cohort in an Oregon facilitator training program. While the school had its merits, we noticed troubling concerns in various aspects of the state program. The prohibitive cost of sacred medicine through state channels made services unaffordable for many who needed them the most. Along with other issues, it began to feel unethical and in direct conflict with our values. Ultimately, we decided to forgo the state program and honor our original purpose, moving forward with reverence for the sanctity of this medicine. Psilo Sangha became a nonprofit ministry, and our board’s first order of business was to determine our costs for services. We unanimously agreed to operate on a donation basis, allowing the value of these profound experiences to speak for themselves and letting Psilo Sangha members determine what they can afford to contribute.
Core Values
Accessibility
Ensuring that all individuals have the opportunity to experience our services regardless of their situation. We will help remove any barrier that stands between the sincere seeker and this sacred medicine.
Compassion
Offering rigorous empathy and support to everyone we serve. Ensuring that those seeking healing feel heard and seen and valued in their humanity.
Mindfulness
Promoting awareness and presence in the moment. The mushrooms will meet you and give you the experience you need in that moment, but it is your responsibility to yourself to anchor the experience in your life through a practice of mindfulness. We offer many wonderful options on how to integrate this into your life.
Integrity
Upholding the highest standards in all our practices. Our lead facilitation team is certified through various accredited pslilocybin programs. We have developed our own training model combining the best of our education resources with our personal insights through lived experience with this sacred medicine.
Authenticity
We are imperfect human beings who have dedicated ourselves to wellness and healing. Our supportive community helps us stay true to our mission and values.
Inclusivity
Respectfully welcoming all individuals from all backgrounds and walks of life. Our diverse team presents many organic opportunities for diverse groups to find a kindred spirit with whom they may build report and feel at home.
“The psilocybin mushroom experience has taught me the value of creating a safe, sacred, non-judgmental space with the intention of healing, communion with the divine, and essential community support. Through these journeys, I’ve deeply experienced Divine Forgiveness and Love, not only for myself but for all others. These ceremonies have allowed me to dissolve the barriers around my heart, so I might be a more gentle, loving, positive, and compassionate human being, significantly improving the quality of my life and relationships. I believe everyone with a sincere interest should have the access and opportunity to experience these profoundly healing and enriching sacred ceremonies. It is our birthright.”
Acknowledgements
We extend our deepest gratitude to the traditional practitioners who have long honored these sacred medicines. Their wisdom and practices are the foundation upon which we build our own ceremonies and healing practices. In July, our board is organizing a trip to visit Mazatec practitioners, seeking to learn from their rich traditions and pay our respects. Although we come from different backgrounds and beliefs, we are united in our respect for this medicine and the values upheld by Psilo Sangha.
Meet Our Team
Our team comes from various cultural and religious backgrounds united by common spiritual and ethical values. Through our various training programs we developed a shared experience. Each of us clearly witnessed that the state programs are creating a very expensive for-profit industry. There are certainly many good and ethical facilitators and many participants who have and will benefit from the service centers and retreats, that corporate approach absolutely does not align with our values regarding this work. It is our intention to make these priceless services accessible to all by offering donation-based, sliding-scale, and otherwise affordable options.
Psilo Sangha founder, Ian Wallin, is dedicated to fostering holistic healing and personal growth through sacred prayer ceremonies and meditation practices. His spiritual journey began with a near-death experience in 1995 that led him to question his purpose, setting him on a path of healing and self-discovery.
In the late 90s and early 2000s, Ian lived with the Red Streak Clan of the Diné Nation, learning the value of spiritual community through traditional ceremonies and culture. He deepened his practices through Vipassana meditation, Inipi, Kriya yoga, and mystical experiences with psilocybin.
Ian’s dedication to integrity, authenticity, and compassion has positioned Psilo Sangha as a leading organization in holistic healing. He has built a dedicated team united by core spiritual values and a shared mission. His vision is to support healthy community, working with sacred medicines and mindfulness practices. Dani Thomas is a queer, able-bodied, white, Western-educated, non-binary transman parent living in the Rogue Valley since 2013. Trained as an osteopathic physician, Dani worked locally as a critical care doctor, primarily caring for patients on life support. Over a decade ago, Dani realized many patients’ organ failures stemmed from social dis-ease. Recognizing the limitations of the traditional biomedical industrial complex, Dani saw true healing from bedside interpersonal interactions rather than medications.
In 2016, Dani began a personal growth journey, starting with healthy eating and meditation. At 38, Dani acknowledged their truth as a non-binary transman, a profoundly spiritual experience that opened perspectives beyond materialism and physicalism. Dani studied the intersection of science and spirituality, developing a worldview filled with compassion, forgiveness, love, dignity, and interconnectedness.
Trained as a psilocybin facilitator, Dani remains in awe of the sacred mushroom’s ability to connect to divine intelligence. Believing healing is within each individual and the present moment is paramount, Dani embraces the honor and privilege of working with this sacrament. Dani holds that divine experiences from mushroom ceremonies are among the most sacred spiritual practices. Everything is interconnected, and all is welcome.
At Psilo Sangha, Dani is responsible for reviewing and revising documents and serves as the secretary. Dani’s work is guided by inclusivity, compassion, and belief in the transformative power of sacred medicines and practices.

Impact and Testimonials
“I’ve been reading Eckhart Tolle and trying to make sense of it all. I came all the way out from New Jersey to check this stuff out. I’ve been straight laced and worked hard my whole life. I was taught that this kind of thing was all about seeing colors and kaleidoscopes but I’ve been reading a lot of good stuff about the mushrooms. So I checked out Satya down the road here in Ashland and I checked out Psilo Sangha a couple days later. Both experiences were extremely powerful. I felt deeply valued for the first time ever. This was medicine for my soul. But it was so much more. I’m gonna have my son come check it out next.”

“I honestly didn’t know what to expect but I was skeptical about all of the meditation stuff . I’d tried mushrooms lots of times and I didn’t see why this would be any different. I’m so glad I did it. Before it was over I knew this was a gift I wanted to share with everyone I know. This was so much different than anything else I’ve ever experienced in my life! Everyone deserves this at least once in their life.”
